What is an actuator? 

Actuators convert energy into linear or rotary movements. Thanks to their efficiency and cleanliness, they can be used for a number of devices by the MedTech industry.

An actuator is the device that produces movement. It converts the power source, which can be either electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic energy, into linear or rotary movements.  

A linear actuator moves forward or back on a set plane. The length of the plane determines how far the actuator can travel in either direction. In contrast, a rotary actuator revolves on a circular plane, so it can keep rotating for as long as necessary. 

The choice of power source and the type of actuator typically depends on where it will be used and any industry-specific requirements. For example, electrical actuators are commonly used by the MedTech industry.
